It has been typical over the many years I have undertaken this weekly songwriting project that I welcome each season with a song, particularly the autumn, which is far and away my favorite. Because mankind is industrious, autumn comes a little later each year in my part of the world. There have been days when I have felt the suggestion of its chill, but most times I have found myself overdressed in my autumn clothes when I have ventured onto the street. Today, I underestimated the evening's atmosphere, and in my thin sweatshirt I knew that November had brought my season with it.
