Last week I wrote a song awash in the isolation that accompanied my convalescence following a bummer of an injury I've been dealing with. Today I'm doing so much better. The difference that a week makes can be like night and day. I'm upbeat by comparison. I'm not wearing regular shoes or anything, but I can get out when I need to or want to. It feels really good. Still, my writing is inflected by the experience I've been dealing with. Three weeks is long enough to be laid up that it leaves you feeling a bit hung over.
